Carnival Cruise Line has confirmed that Carnival Luminosa and Carnival Adventure will leave Australia in March 2028. Its October 15, 2026 announcement gives travelers dates for the two ships’ departures from Sydney.
Carnival Luminosa is scheduled to make its final voyage from Sydney on March 15, 2028. Carnival Adventure follows on March 20 and will not return to Australia as previously planned. Luminosa has operated seasonal sailings from Brisbane since cruising restarted in 2022.
Carnival Splendor will continue sailing year-round from Sydney, while Carnival Encounter remains based year-round in Brisbane. Carnival said its 2028–29 program for those ships would be released in the coming weeks.
The announcement concerns future deployment, with the two departing ships still part of the Australian program over the next two summer seasons. Carnival described the changes as part of its long-term global fleet planning; the release did not identify their next destinations.
