Disney Cruise Line has named Trent Hitchcock as Disney Believe’s opening cruise director for its planned late-2027 debut. The appointment appears in the company’s October 6, 2026 Ship’s Log update.
Hitchcock has spent nearly 20 years with the line, including a decade as a cruise director and a role on Disney Destiny’s opening team. He will oversee entertainment, recreation and youth activities aboard the new ship.
A separate October 5 update reported Disney Believe’s keel-laying milestone and said construction of its second large hull section was underway. A commemorative Tinker Bell coin featured in the ceremony. The update does not specify the ceremony’s exact date.
Travelers will soon have more planning details to consider. Disney’s previously announced livestream is scheduled for October 7 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern, covering the homeport, itineraries, venues and entertainment. Those details remain forthcoming; online guesses about unannounced onboard features should not be treated as confirmed offerings.
