For our 27th anniversary, we took a Grand Canyon Railway trip with a Luxury Dome rail experience and time at the canyon. Our video follows the journey from getting ready at home through the hotel, train and tour.

What we booked

Our package included two nights at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, round-trip railway travel for two in Luxury Dome, and the Grand Tour for two with lunch. The package total we shared was $977.32.

That was the price for our particular booking. It is not a current quote or the complete cost of every meal and incidental expense during the trip. We changed to a package without the hotel meals; the Grand Tour lunch was included.

The experience around the train ride

We filmed the hotel arrival and room, the Wild West show, boarding, the onboard snack buffet, entertainment, the train robbery, the Grand Tour and canyon viewpoints. Those parts help show what the day actually involved beyond the train seat itself.

Compare the whole trip

If you are considering a similar journey, compare the hotel nights, rail class, tour and meals as a whole. Then add your travel to the departure point and any extras you expect to buy.

The full video is the best place to follow our experience. Use your own current booking quote when deciding whether the package fits your plans.
