The fare is only one part of a cruise budget. Travel to the port, a hotel, parking, transfers and the extras you choose can change the total.
Start with the costs you already know. Use your own current quotes and check whether each includes taxes, gratuities and mandatory fees. Record the full cost once, then track deposits separately so you can see both the total and what remains to be paid.
Next, make three versions of your plan: the essentials, the extras you really want, and everything you are considering. The difference makes your choices easier to see.
For each extra, ask: how often will we use it, what is already included, and what would we rather spend that money on? A package can be a good fit for one trip and unnecessary for another.
Always confirm prices, availability and cancellation terms directly with your cruise line or provider before booking.
