Holland America Line has revealed another part of Oosterdam’s planned Evolution refurbishment: Bar 1873, a two-story gathering space centered on the ship’s Deck 2 atrium. The October 16, 2026 announcement also describes expanded entertainment at the Crow’s Nest.
The new bar will feature a three-meter illuminated tulip, more than 200 heritage and repurposed objects, and displays tracing the line’s history. Its particular theme draws on Queen Juliana’s 1958 christening of Rotterdam V, with piano performances planned before dinner and through the evening.
A signature cocktail will let guests choose an essence, alongside other drinks inspired by the venue’s historical theme. The redesigned Crow’s Nest will support daytime activities and evening music spanning the 1970s through today.
Holland America intends other Evolution ships to receive their own interpretations of Bar 1873. These are announced future features; the release does not mean the new venue is already operating aboard Oosterdam.
