Viking has taken delivery of Viking Rota, a 190-guest river ship that will operate on the Rhine, Main and Danube, the company announced October 7, 2026. Cruise Critic reported the addition in an October 8 update.

The new Longship has 95 staterooms and follows Viking’s established Scandinavian design. Its features include an indoor-outdoor Aquavit Terrace, a square bow that accommodates three full decks, and an asymmetric corridor layout enabling two-room suites.

Planned itineraries include Rhine Getaway, Grand European Tour, Danube Waltz and Tulips & Windmills, alongside Christmas on the Rhine and Danube Christmas Delights. Viking’s announcement did not give a specific inaugural sailing date.

The delivery also advances a larger expansion: Viking says its committed orderbook includes 18 additional river ships due by 2028, when it expects a river fleet of 114. Those totals are company projections, rather than ships already in service.
